CAMRA statement on England being knocked out of the FIFA Women’s World Cup

Nik Antona, CAMRA National Chairman said: “Whilst we commiserate with the Lionesses’ loss last night, there is still cause for celebration this morning. This year’s England’s Women’s World Cup semi-final is reported to be one of the most watched games ever.

“We’d like to thank the nation’s pubs for throwing their support behind the team this year and getting involved in our Summer of Pub campaign to show special screenings, which we believe has made a huge difference – and we hope pubs and audiences will continue to support England in their match for 3rd place on Saturday.

“Let’s continue the summer of sport by tuning into the Cricket today and hopefully celebrate an England win down at the local with a pint this evening!”
