Reopened autumn 2012 after 18 months' closure and renamed by new lessee, Antic. A bakery, buttery and bar, popular for weekend 'brunches': in effect a cafe in daytime and a large, welcoming, single bar pub in the evenings. Large garden is very popular in fine weather. Open daily from 10am for food. Formerly (and somewhat notoriously) A Bar 2 Far and originally Horse & Groom. Cask beer reinstated in 2024.

As at 29 June, refurbishment was still in hand. Workmen confirmed that the name would change to Oberon. Meanwhile it was open only for England matches in the World Cup. Four visible handpumps seemed not yet (back) in use.

As at 7 August, refurbishment appeared to have stalled. Oberon remains an aspiration only.
