Hoptics, West Wickham

The pub formerly known as The Real Ale Way reopened on 5th August 2026 under new ownership, and was renamed Hoptics Micropub.

A popular venue with a mixed clientele, Hoptics is friendly and welcoming to all. Well-behaved dogs are also very welcome.

A former soft furnishings shop, the premises have large double-aspect windows, mirrors, exposed floorboards and cream-coloured walls, making the single room feel clean, light and bright. The wooden bar has mirrored drinks shelving behind it, set against a sage green back wall. There is a range of high and low seating and tables, plus stools at the bar. There is also a small patio area adjacent to the pub with seating and is screened from the road.

Six cask ales are available, most sourced from smaller breweries in Kent and dispensed by gravity from a cold room at the rear. The ales are listed on a board by the bar, on the Real Ale Finder app and on Instagram @hopticsmicropub. The house bitter and pale ales are from Tonbridge Brewery, and there are always at least two gluten-free and vegan-friendly ales available.

A range of still ciders from Biddenden and Lilley's are also available, together with a wide selection of wines, spirits and prosecco.

Food can be ordered from local food partners and delivered to your table to be eaten on site.

On Sunday afternoons, there is usually a complimentary cheeseboard.

Please note that opening hours may be subject to minor variations.

West Wickham railway station is around a 10-minute walk away, and there are nearby bus stops serving the main routes to and from West Wickham.
