Before last week's General Election, over 670 Parliamentary Candidates signed up to pledge their support for CAMRA's Beer Drinkers and Pub Goers Charter.
CAMRA closely followed the election results in order to determine how many of these candidates have become MPs.
This morning, the CAMRA Public Affairs Team announced that, '150 supportive candidates have become MPs. Among the 150 are 60 Labour MPs, 45 Conservatives, 42 Liberal Democrats, and one MP each from SNP, Plaid Cymru and the Green Party.'
The overwhelming number of new, supportive MPs highlights the success of CAMRA's election campaign, in which parliamentary candidates were asked by nearly 2000 CAMRA members to sign up to '5 Key Commitments' to support community pubs.
CAMRA looks forward to working closely with all supportive MPs, to ensure necessary and crucial reforms to protect community pubs and responsible beer drinkers are seriously considered.
