CAMRA's new Beer Drinkers and Pub Goers Charter, launched at its Annual Parliamentary Reception, seeks to encourage Candidates in the forthcoming General Election to support CAMRA's campaigns.
At this election we are likely to see the biggest changeover of MPs in a generation, with perhaps as many as 300 constituencies changing hands. It is therefore more important than ever that we begin to influence potential MPs now.
In order to influence Election Candidates, CAMRA is contacting local Election Candidates through a
campaigning website, asking them to sign up to five key commitments:
1) Promote the interests of Britain's pub goers
2) Champion well-run community pubs
3) Rebalance alcohol taxation to support beer and pubs
4) Reform the beer tie to deliver a fair deal for consumers
5) Support the role of well-run pubs as solutions to alcohol misuse
If you wish to email your Election Candidates asking them to sign up to these five commitments,
please go to the campaign website, select 'Lobby your Election Candidates' and use our sample email.
