Herts publicans stage protest

CAMRA award winning tenants hit back at eviction

30 November 2009
By Jon Howard

The Globe at Letchworth A group of disaffected licensees will on Thursday join a protest at a local pub recently named the CAMRA North Hertfordshire branch 'Most Improved Pub of the Year 2009'.

Tenants at the Globe pub in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, have been given ten days to quit the premises by owners Punch Taverns after buying beer independently of their tied arrangement. Refusing to leave the pub, the tenants will be joined by the Pub Revolution movement, a group recently threatening to stage a 'mass beercott' across the UK, to protest against the eviction.
