It’s official, Justin "Buster" Grant of Breconshire Brewery brews the best beer in Wales!
At the Champion Beer of Wales competition at Cardiff City Hall, organised by CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, Breconshire Brewery Golden Valley managed to outscore all the other breweries in Wales a blind tasting.
The golden coloured beer made in the Brecon Beacons outshone all the other Welsh Beers at the Great Welsh Beer & Cider Festival. The Festival has over 150 real ales from across the UK and 120 Welsh beers. The Great Welsh Beer & Cider Festival is the biggest beer festival in Wales with more beers than the Minich Octoberfest.
One of the judges of the Champion Beer of Wales competition, Nigel Evans MP, Vice-Chair of the Parliamentary Beer Group said, "The Welsh beers were outstanding. There was so a high degree of quality and variety in the beers we tried and all the brewers have done their best to make the beers so drinkable. The Great Welsh Beer and Cider Festival is a fantastic showcase for Welsh breweries."
Justin Grant, Head Brewer of Breconshire Brewery said, "I’m over the moon about winning the Champion Beer of Wales Award. I’ve always wanted to win a major CAMRA award and having the title of Champion Beer of Wales is the topping on the cake for me. A lot of hard work goes into producing real ale and I’m happy that my labours are recognised."
